It hasn’t been a while since the last Genshin Impact controversy which surrounded the Lunar New Year update and lackluster rewards we got from it. Chapter 1: Neuvilette
Neuvilette is most likely the strongest character in Genshin Impact. He is a recent addition, and can solo the Abyss at only C0R1. This means that he doesn’t need additional constellations nor a strong Rank 5 Weapon in order to SOLO the Spiral Abyss, Genshin’s only end-game system.
Chapter 2: Arlecchino Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact Arlecchino is in a similar position. A meta-defining character that seems a bit too strong. Her kit revolves around her Bond of Life which gives her basic, charged, and plunging attacks Pyro Infusion and a massive damage boost. Not only that, but she can capably heal on her own and at C1 she becomes entirely self-reliant because she gets stagger interruption, which is her main issue.
Chapter 3: Weapons and overall Power
Her weapon significantly boosts her strength as well, and if you get her at C1R1, you can comfortably forget about having trouble in the game ever again – unless it’s against enemies that have Pyro shields or are immune to Pyro damage entirely, but the same could be said of Neuvilette.

Chapter 4: Comparisons with Older Characters
To make a small comparison, my friend has a fully built (At C1), high-investment Diluc that deals around 15-20K damage with each hit of his Elemental Skill.
My low-investment, low-stat, level 80 Arlecchino (C0) that uses an R5 White-Tassel (A 3 Star Polearm that boosts basic attacks) deals the same amount of damage with every basic attack she makes.
Chapter 5: Other Characters
Then we have some recent characters, like Dehya, who MASSIVELY underperfomed as 5-Stars, which has lead to players being jaded about the favoritism that Hoyoverse seems to show to certain characters vs others.
And thus does this story conclude with many elements combining to result in a very unsatisfied community. Those who have Genshin Impact Arlecchino know how powerful she is, those who don’t are salty that their characters can never be as strong.
Part 2: Story (Spoilers Ahead)
The second part of the Genshin Impact Arlecchino controversy surrounds her character and story. She was seemingly presented as an evil, or morally gray character at first. This has brought a lot of intrigue to her and made a lot of people want her to be playable even more.
However, with the recent Petricor Island update that was focused on Genshin Arlecchino and the end of her story, it was revealed that she was a Mary Sue. For those that don’t know, a Mary Sue is a character that can do no wrong. She is perfect in every way imaginable.
You thought that Genshin Arlecchino would potentially kill people, good or bad, that get in her way? Only bandits and thieves have met their end by her hand.
You thought she would scold her “family” and be a harsh “Father” to them? Turns out she’s the most caring parent in the world.

Arlecchino Genshin Impact and Genshin Impact Hoyoverse have come under fire from some of the frustrated parts of the community thanks to a few different aspects of her character, kit, and story…
