Utility terrain vehicles, like the Can-Am Maverick, have gained a great deal of popularity over the years. They’re great for off-roading and hunting and camping trips. They’re also perfect utilitarian vehicles for working in the woods and on farms and ranches. Those are only a few of the possibilities. They can go pretty much anywhere regardless of the rocks, roots, mud, and other obstacles that may be in the way.
These vehicles come ready to work and play straight from the dealership. They already have the power, performance, ground clearance, and suspension to handle all types of terrain. Still, it’s certainly possible to improve upon them and ramp up their usefulness. For that, you need Maverick parts and accessories. Several options are available from doors and roll cages to sound systems and aftermarket lights. There may even be a few you haven’t considered yet.
Winches
Winches can be incredibly helpful off-road. They’ll pull rocks and small trees out of your way and may pull vehicles out of the mud. Just be sure you don’t give your Maverick more of a load than it can safely handle. You may even need to hook a winch up to a tree or another vehicle to pull yourself out of a bind at some point. You can mount a winch to the front or back of your UTV depending on where you think it might be most effective. You may want to add a reinforcement bracket or a specially designed winch bumper to the mix for added strength.
Nerf Rails
Nerf rails could be a nice addition to your Maverick as well. They’ll give you something to step on when you’re getting into and out of the vehicle. That’s helpful for shorter people or if you’re parked in a precarious spot. Even more importantly, though, they’ll help protect your Maverick and all the vital parts underneath it. Rocks, stumps, and other hazards can do a great deal of damage if you run over them, but Nerf rails will help keep downtime and expensive repairs at a minimum.
Tie Downs
Obviously, you may not be able to drive your Maverick just anywhere. You may need to haul it part of the way to your destination. If so, you’ll need to secure it to a trailer or the bed of a truck. That’s where tie downs come into play. Ratchet straps, bungee cords, and many other solutions are available for that purpose, but they’re not necessarily the best options. Having steel tie downs with quick, easy catch and release features are more convenient, and they can give you added security.
Battery Isolator Kits
A battery isolator kit may come in handy as well. That’s particularly true if you have a lot of accessories running off of your Maverick’s main battery, like lights, a winch, and speakers. Battery isolator kits let you run those accessories off of a secondary battery so you don’t risk draining your primary one. That could save you the time and effort of having to get a jump-start or a tow back to your truck.
Having All the Right Accessories for Your Can-Am Maverick
No doubt, your Maverick already has many of the features you need to work or play off-road. You probably have a few ideas for making it even more functional, though. The parts and accessories listed here can do just that. Whether you want to be prepared for emergencies or you just want to have a little extra fun with your UTV, you have plenty of options to choose from.
